Hi Everyone…
Well, it can be hard with the cold and stuff to really feel like spring is coming. It will be before we know it and the urge to clean will return also. Why not start a bit early and work on your cleaning groove now? I perked myself up with a new microfiber pad for my mop. The other ones were worn out. I have laminate flooring. We are adding a second story addition and the mud getting tracked in was horrendous at times. Things are better now and the floor is too. I fill the sink halfway…put in 1 cup of white vinegar and 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol (for faster drying) and start mopping. This concoction leaves a nice shine.
This works for no wax vinyl also. If you want, you can just use water and vinegar with the same good results.
Vinegar (about 1/2 to 1 cup) in the rinse cycle of your dishwasher will help with the dishes and with the inside of the unit. Discoloration from iron can be eliminated nearly 100%. My dishwasher was looking pretty grungy from the high iron in our water. Vinegar really got alot of it out. With repeated application, it will be gone. The glasses look nice too!

Sweepin’ Beauties
Recipe for Housecleaning
I’ve just cleaned out my cupboards
And with the same housewifely art
I decided to set in order, the cupboards
of my heart.
There are lots of things I meant to save,
And use some everyday;
And then, there are a lot of things
I should have thrown away.
There’s always quite a jumble, and
Mixed up with the lot,
Were bitter things and ugly things,
That should have been forgot.
But there are scraps of tender dreams
A sweet caress–a kiss
A letter that my mother wrote–
Oh how I treasured this!
I discovered soon, spoiled, ugly things
Were taking so much space–
That for the precious things I’d keep
I couldn’t find a place.
So I’ve cast out all the worthless things
The scraps and quarrels and tatters
Of old time hurts and fancied wrongs
And kept what really matters.
Sinve I’ve disposed of ugly things
Each hateful memory found,
My other things shine brighter–
They gleam with glory all around.
My cleaning goes on day by day–
And I’d suggest you start,
You’ll find it’s mighty precious
The have clean cupboards in your heart.

Music while you clean!
Hi!
I don’t know about you, but music can have a profound effect on me. We enjoy music for different reasons at different times. When you are tackling those cleaning jobs you don’t exactly enjoy some pep talk set to notes might be just the thing. Here’s a site that allows you to very easily pick what “talks” to you…
If you like classical here is a site I found that doesn’t take up alot of bandwidth but sounds great!
That’s your tip for the day…

Another clean place to visit…
Loads of information on here. A fun site even if you hate to clean! I just might start using the Red and Blue Juice. I tend to like non-toxic, yet effective cleaners.

PS..a word of caution:
Do not use vinegar on a laminate floor. I now use Synteko. It won’t build up and leaves a nice glow. It’s a product I trust.
Here is my favorite glass cleaner formula:

If you want an odorless, streakless, no fragrance effective glass cleaner try
Green Solutions brand glass cleaner. This is a green product. Nothing harmful for you or the planet. I’ve been using this the last couple of weeks and it’s great!
You can buy it from a cleaning supply store. I bought mine at Bay West Supply in Eureka.
It’s a concentrate and it will make a whole lotta glass cleaner!
2 oz. of concentrate to a gallon of water. That’s 64 gallons or 128 32 oz. bottles. Cost?
Less than 15.00 About 12cents per 32 oz. bottle of glass cleaner. That’s even less than the above recipe. Really folks…it’s a no brainer.
We ladies really should avail ourselves of businesses that cater to the professionals.
That’s where the really good stuff is!
Happy Clean livin’!
